On behalf of the team at the Norfolk Hotel we would like to wish you a warm welcome. The Norfolk is a family owned and operated independent business and strives to continue to offer our guests a high level of service and comfort. Our goal is to create a pleasant hotel with a relaxed atmosphere and traditional service values.
As our guests we hope you enjoy all of the hotel’s facilities. Brian, our guest services manager is on hand to help you make the most of your stay both at the Norfolk and our beautiful Island.

Restaurant
Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 10.00am.
Should you require, early breakfasts can be arranged with reception.
Please note, early breakfasts must be pre-booked.
Our restaurant opens at 6.00pm. Last orders for evening meals are at 7.30pm.
Guests booked on a bed and breakfast basis who decide to dine in our restaurant can book evening meals at reception.
The evening dress code is smart casual. Gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers and sleeves.
Lounge Bar
Our bar is open from 5.00pm until 1.00am. We feature regular entertainment during the high season. Check our notice board for details.
Vending Machine
Vending machines selling a variety of drinks & snacks are available within the interior courtyard.
Late Check-out
Later checkouts are available until 11:00am but are subject to availability and must be arranged with reception.
Keeping rooms after 11:00am on departure day is possible, again subject to availability, and is charged at £35.00.
Any later than 13:00 will require a full night’s charge and is, of course, subject to availability.
Parking
Guest parking is available at the hotel and is free of charge. Please register your vehicle with reception upon arrival to obtain a permit. Please ensure if you have any visitors with a vehicle they also inform reception and obtain a permit. We require a fully refundable £5.00 deposit for a permit. Cars without a permit may incur a fine. Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk.
We do not pre-book parking spaces. Availability is subject to demand.
We have a disabled parking space available.
If you have a large vehicle – please see reception before parking as certain spaces are more suitable.
If the car park is full there is a public carpark 4 minutes’ walk from the hotel. The car park is called Green Street. Public parking is chargeable. Check signage when parking your vehicle
Drying Room
For your convenience the ironing and drying room is situated on the 2nd floor landing next to room 216. Please note that the dryer accepts 20p and £1.00 coins.
Swimming Pool
Guests may use the pool from dawn until dusk. Towels are available from reception. Please return your used towels to reception. We kindly ask that guests complete a medical/safety questionnaire at reception before using the pool.
Internet
Free Wi-Fi is available. All of our guest access points have the word NORFOLK in their name. Scan for the strongest signal and input the password. The password is sunnyjersey. For further details see reception.
Travel Representatives
Those guests who have booked their holiday with a tour operator please check our noticeboard for information from your representative. Please feel free to ask at reception if you have any queries.
Toiletries
Complimentary soap and shower gel is provided in your room. A hairdryer is located in the top drawer of the vanity unit.
Towels
Help us save resources. If you intend to reuse your towels, please hang them on the rack. If you would like your towels changed please leave them on the floor or in the bath or shower.
Blankets
If you require a blanket please ask at reception.
Tea & Coffee
Complimentary tea & coffee is provided in your room and refilled once per day. Should you require more, tea & coffee can be purchased from the vending machines on the ground floor. Alternatively extra sachets can be purchased from reception.
Luggage Assistance
Should you require assistance with your luggage, please contact reception and they will arrange a porter to assist you.
Doctor
Private medical attention can be arranged in an emergency. Please contact reception.
Fridge
Cold storage is available at reception.
Computer
There is a computer for guest use at reception. Printing is available at 40p per page.
First Aid
Please contact reception.
Early Morning Calls
If required, early morning calls can be arranged at reception.
Room Safes
Your room safe should be visible in your room or may be inside your wardrobe.
How to use your room safe:
The safe door must be open with the handle turned to the right.
- Press the small red reset button inside the door. The safe will beep and the screen will say ‘set code’.
- Enter your own new 4 digit code and then press the key symbol on the keypad. The safe will beep.
- Close the safe door and turn the handle to the left. The safe is now locked.
- To open the safe: enter your 4 digit code and then press the key symbol. The safe will beep and the screen will say ‘open’. Turn the handle to the right to open the safe.
- To close the safe: simply close the safe door and turn the handle to the left.
Please remember to remove all personal items before vacating the hotel. The hotel cannot accept responsibility for the loss of any items.
**WHEN DEPARTING THE HOTEL PLEASE LEAVE THE SAFE DOOR OPEN.**
Television
Freeview is available on all televisions and channel information is available on screen. A selection of radio stations are also available on the televisions.

Taxis
Taxis can be arranged by using the dedicated taxi phone at reception.
Check Out
On your day of departure check out time is 10am. Subject to availability, later check outs can be arranged but may incur a charge.
Please remember to return your key to reception before you depart. Lost keys will incur a charge of £75.00.
Pre-booked transfers should be confirmed with your travel representative. Should you require any further information, please ask at reception.
Fire precautions
Please read the fire notice in your bedroom. Close all doors and leave by the nearest fire exit. The assembly point is in the hotel car park.
SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN ALL AREAS INSIDE THE HOTEL INCLUDING YOUR ROOM AND BATHROOM. THIS INCLUDES SMOKING OUT OF THE WINDOW.
A MINIMUM FINE OF £100.00 WILL BE INCURRED AS A RESULT OF SMOKING.
ANY DAMAGE, BREAKAGES OR SPILLAGES IN THE ROOM MUST BE REPORTED TO RECEPTION AND MAY BE CHARGED.
We kindly ask that room keys are left at reception whenever you leave the hotel.
Reception is open 24 hours.
Mattress protection
Although we appreciate it is a delicate matter we must insist that guests who are incontinent or guests travelling with children who may have incontinence inform us prior to using the beds.
Hygiene is our highest priority. We have a water resistant mattress protector fitted on all beds to protect against light soiling but fully waterproof protectors are only available on request.
All requests will be treated with discretion.
If we are not informed and mattresses are damaged from spillage of any kind then the damaged items will be charged. This will apply to mattresses and bed bases if soiled.
